been a long time since I played with a 130x... I added in the HP08 3s I think motor, with an external BLHeli ESC with gov... full metal upgrades.. it was insane... flew for about 2 min.. and it took a lot of time getting it right.. but t was fun.. from memory that motor is a straight drop in... my advice would be.. if its flying fine leave it.. they can be fiddly to get flying right once you start tinkering.

it'll be a full project rebuild, replacing almost everything with micoheli or other aluminum parts. I just seen one on youtube with this motor upgrade and the parts upgrade and it was insane!!

yeah seen that vid ages ago.. I will just say.. that once you go down the moding path with these, and any micro heli, it can be a long road to get it flying right again..

I just don't understand why so many people modify them then, if they know it's going to be so much trouble to get it flying right again? I guess since i'm new, it just makes no sense to me for people to do it so much.

if you can get it to fly right.. it flies a lot better.. and the power is awesome. but.. you need to get there.. and a lot of people go back to stock.. I have found that they have always been tricky to get the tail right... I ended up moding it.. flew for a while.. killed a few packs.. then crashed.. could never get it right again... went back to stock motor/esc

Adding all the aluminum parts also adds weight... as I discovered with the Nano CPx. I wouldn't aluminize anything other than the parts that most commonly break or wear out. Micro helis don't have much margin for extra weight.

yeah I noticed or read quite a few articles where the main parts upgrade was in the tail rotor section on the 130x. They would replace one gear with a metal one, but leave the other nylon, plastic, whatever you want to call it. And they were all using the same mod brands, size, and all for that area. So it sounded like someone had come up with a few specific parts to be added in the tail rotor section that worked very well together.

like at the bottom of the video, one guy in the comments section asked what would be the 3 parts to change if he could only change 3. He said the aluminum swash, metal pitch slider, motor, and the tail section to add some weight to the tail as an added benefit since the tail was real light.
