Hi any help would be appreciated I have just built a kds innova 550 it's been going great it has 43 flights on it now but on the 35th flight I pulled the bolt out of the ally stand off that the carbon boom support bolts to . Right hand side so I thought to myself that will teach me to check thing thread was flogged out I just thought it was loss for a few flights and that was the end result. It broke in a right tail piroing tic toc . So I fixed it and it broke the next flight so I made a harden steel stand off and upgrade bolts to 3 mm the bolts I used are 3 mm feathering shaft bolts on the 5th flight today it sheard the bolt same side right right tail piroing tic toc . Any ideas

just a suggestion, not sure it would work or if you can find one. Perhaps try a shouldered bolt hard steel?

That picture looks like a stretch fracture from being torqued more than the bolt is rated for, but that can happen with cheap hardware also. A 3mm bolt shouldn't break so easily, especially a feathering shaft bolt as you say. Boom supports themselves shouldn't put much shearing force on a bolt exept for maybe a really hard crash or landing. Try tightening the bolts just enough to hold the rod end in place and use Loctite to keep it from working loose.

Beaver depends how you fly. I've seen the X3 jesus bolt breaking on people. Replacing it with a shouldered bolt hard steel fixed the issue. Again depends on how hard the pilot fly's or their flying style.

Hawko's style would be different to mine(old man flying style) or yours I take it.

The harder a pilot fly's the weak points of the heli starts showing up.

Yes... Jesus bolts, I've sheared plenty of those at the head during crashes and recently installed a shouldered bolt.
Boom supports on the other hand, shouldn't be breaking 3mm bolts unless they are too tight and the torque reaction of the tail boom is causing the boom supports to flex and snap the bolt.

MaybE I'll found the heli's limitation been told it's a vibration issue. By a very experienced pilot I'm running vbar but not pro so I have been told to upgrade to pro and check vbar log for vibration . This guy has never been wrong with any problems in the past so I'm believing that what it is I'm not sure how how to do all this with vbar logs either and the other thing is the heli is smooth as to fly it's like it on Rails so my heads in a place if the vibration is that bad to snap a hardern 3 mm Bolt in 5 flights wouldn't you think the heli would be flying not so well

Not yet going to see how to get it in the next few days and try and understand how to read all its information . For now I'm going to go and put some flights on it just sports fly no hard stop or tic toc maneuvers And see how it goes
