So I`m flying my 550E at the local field today, and after about four flights...the tail starts wagging violently during fast backward flight. At first, I thought maybe the gain was too high. So I lowered it a bit, and that made it much worse.
I set it back to where it was before, and went through the rudder setup on the AR7200BX. I reset the whole rudder setup, re-centered the servo, and the wagging remained.
So I put the 550 away for the day, and flew the 600N. About and hour ago, I decided to dig into the 550 a little more, and what did I find? I had forgotten to pin the tail boom the last time I crashed it, and the boom had slid out of the transmission about 1cm.
I pushed it back in and this time, made sure it was pinned and tightened up. Tomorrow I will fly it again and hopefully that solved the problem.
I feel kind of stupid for allowing that to happen, but I`m sure glad I found it before it slipped all the way out in flight. That could have been very ugly.
