Just sold this one. It had 2 server power supplies inside for 1150W at 24v. Fan to help push air through & a fused 240v inlet socket. Made the deck myself.
It had no trouble running a 1000W charger.

Recently, my charger (a Dynamite Passport Ultra Duo) decided it has had enough. So I purchased an FMA PowerLab 8X2, and all the goodies and gadgets I needed to build a charging case. This is my very first ever attempt at building a charging case, but I think it turned out ok. Here are some photos from the start of the build until it was finished. I do have a couple of fan guards coming, and they should be here in a few days.

Thanks Simon. The covering is a self adhesive vinyl sheet that looks like carbon fiber. $7.99 for a 2' X 5' roll on Amazon.

 

Well done @Geena! That looks very professional. How does the mains connect? IE is there a lead coming out the case or is there a plug to connect the mains to?

 

Thank you @smakmeharder. I`m really happy with how it turned out. The leads are soldered into those little nubbins sticking up from the deck, and just plugged into the charger with banana plugs. I thought about soldering the into the charger too, but I was worried about warranty voiding if I did that. I tested it last night, buy doing a couple of charge/discharge cycles on a set of 5200mAh 6s packs and all went well.

 

Your case looks great Geena - appears you went down a very similar route to me.

I've only just finished building my own case, using the following components.

- Dual Powerlab 8x2
- Bump controller
- Dual MPA's
- Meanwell RSP-3000-48
- Cheap Bunnings case

 

Yours looks great too, and I LOVE those fan covers. Our setups are very similar, except I didn`t go with a bump control. After seeing one of my flying buddies struggle with setting his up, I decided against it. I also went a different direction with the power supply. I used a Juice Box 70A 1800W 24V power supply. I read up on several power supplies before deciding, and I heard no complaints about the Juice Box. For $100, and free shipping....I figured why not give it a try.
